Entryway Decor Ideas for Small Spaces

There is nothing that I love more than a FINISHED project! And I now have a redecorated entryway! A few months ago, I decided that my entryway needed an upgrade. When I moved into my house, I didn’t put much thought into the vibe I wanted to create for the entry of my home. I purchased a canvas piece of art from Hobby Lobby and a gold sculpture from Home Goods, threw them on the wall and in the nook and called it a day. And truth be told, it wasn’t giving any kind of life. It was dull and boring, and I knew it needed MORE.

So here’s the thing — when entryways that are pulled together + have a little wow factor, it will make your guests excited to see what the rest of the house will hold. It’s almost a teaser of sorts — and I wanted my entryway to make people excited to see what the rest of my home looked like. So here’s what I did to my entryway…and hopefully it will provide some ideas and inspiration for you if you’re looking to upgrade yours.

ADD A MIRROR

If you’re working with a small space, a mirror will reflect light and instantly make the space feel larger, so I highly recommend it as a part of your design. You could do a round or square/rectangle mirror depending on the flow of the space — either would work! Another bonus of having a mirror in your entry way is for that final makeup check before walking out the door. I know it seems trivial, but I can’t tell you how functional having this mirror in the entryway is and how much I now use it on a regular basis.

ADD A SHELF

My favorite part of the entryway is the custom shelf! And I must add, the mirror and shelf together is the perfect combination! If you are working with a small space, this narrow shelf is a great option. It doesn’t take up too much space, but is a great focal point. My shelf was custom built — I showed my contractor a photo from @pinterest, and he brought it to life! I had it stained the same color as my hardwood floors, so it blends naturally into the space. While my shelf was a custom add, I was able to find a similar shelf on Etsy.

ADD A FLORAL ARRANGEMENT

I love having floral stems in the entryway. I feel like this was one of the major elements that was missing previously. It adds a little life and sophistication to the space! My recommendation is to keep the floral arrangements or floral stems simple. I have several arrangements in the space but they are all simplistic and all the stems compliment each other. If you are having questions on how to make sure the stems/arrangements compliment each other — think similar colors, similar leaves, similar flowers.

It feels great to walk into my house and be greeted by a clean, designed space! Do you need an entryway makeover? Do you have a small entry space? Hopefully this blog will help spark some ideas for you if you’re thinking about upgrading your entryway.
